Welcome to InEgypt. By downloading, installing, or using the InEgypt application, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
InEgypt is developed and maintained by Ahmed Elawady, an independent developer based in Egypt.
InEgypt is a transit routing and travel companion app for Egypt. It provides:
The app is intended as an informational and planning tool to assist with navigation and travel in Egypt.
Important: Transit schedules, routes, fares, attraction hours, prices, weather, currency rates, and other information provided by InEgypt are based on available data and may not always reflect real-time conditions. Schedules may change, routes may be modified, fares may be updated by transport authorities without notice, and currency rates fluctuate.
InEgypt provides estimates and guidance, not guarantees. You should always verify critical travel details (especially intercity trains, buses, ferries, flights, opening hours and ticket prices) with the official operators. We make every effort to keep information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee its completeness or real-time accuracy.
InEgypt is free to download. Some features are unlocked through optional Pro plans. We currently offer:
Pro Yearly supports Apple Family Sharing. When enabled in your Apple ID settings, members of your Family Sharing group can access Pro features on their own devices. Weekly, Monthly, and Lifetime plans do not support Family Sharing.
Offline Mode: Offline access included in Pro covers transit routes, schedules, attraction and city guides, and safety tips. Map display, photos, weather, currency rates, third-party tours and similar online features still require an active internet connection.
InEgypt offers core features for free, including exploring attractions and cities, saving favorites, viewing the map, and a limited number of route searches and trip plans per day or month. Some advanced features (multi-day weather forecast, unlimited routes, additional trip-planner usage, etc.) require a Pro plan. Free limits may be adjusted from time to time.
The trip planner generates itineraries algorithmically from curated InEgypt data and Apple Maps points of interest. Suggestions are informational only and do not guarantee that a place is open, available, accessible, safe, or appropriate for your situation. Always verify opening hours, ticket prices, and conditions directly with the venue or operator before traveling.
The expense tracker is a personal recordkeeping tool. It is not financial, accounting, or tax advice. Currency exchange rates shown in the app and converter come from a third-party data provider (ExchangeRate-API) and from cached or fallback values when the network is unavailable. Rates shown are estimates only and may differ from the rate your bank or card issuer applies. Always verify the actual rate before making financial decisions.
Weather data comes from Apple WeatherKit and may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable for some cities. Multi-day forecasts are limited to roughly the next 10 days. Do not rely on InEgypt weather for safety-critical decisions.
Where indicated, InEgypt displays tours and activities provided by third parties (currently GetYourGuide) through their official affiliate embed widget. Bookings are made directly with the third party and are governed by their own terms, pricing, cancellation policies, and privacy practices. InEgypt earns an affiliate commission on qualifying bookings at no additional cost to you. We are not a party to your booking and are not responsible for the third party's content, availability, tour quality, refunds, or customer service.
InEgypt uses Meta's (Facebook) advertising SDK to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, and uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics. Both are described in detail in our Privacy Policy. You can toggle anonymous analytics off in Settings → App Settings → "Share anonymous usage", and you control advertising attribution through Apple's standard App Tracking Transparency prompt and iOS Settings.

All content in InEgypt — including but not limited to the app design, user interface, transit data, attraction descriptions, city guides, icons, illustrations, and graphics — is the intellectual property of Ahmed Elawady or used with appropriate rights. The transit and attraction data has been independently collected and curated by the developer.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of this content without prior written consent.
Trip background photos accessed through the optional Unsplash picker are provided by Unsplash and their respective photographers, and are licensed under the Unsplash License. Map content is provided by Apple. Tour content is provided by GetYourGuide.
You may create content within InEgypt (trips, itineraries, expenses, notes, custom place categories, favorites). This content is stored locally on your device. You retain ownership of your content. Because we do not host your content on our servers, we are not responsible for backing it up, restoring it, or migrating it between devices. Removing the app or clearing app data may permanently delete this content.
InEgypt includes safety features such as the Scam Shield and Fair Price Guide. These are provided as general guidance based on common experiences and publicly available information. They are not guarantees of safety or pricing accuracy. Actual situations vary, and you should always exercise personal judgment and caution when traveling.
Emergency contact numbers provided in the app are sourced from official Egyptian authorities. InEgypt is not an emergency service and does not connect you to emergency responders. In an emergency, dial the numbers directly from your phone's dialer. We are not responsible for the availability or response of emergency services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the app, or to specific features, for any user who violates these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. Cancelling a subscription is handled through Apple as described in section 3.1.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Egypt, except where applicable consumer protection law provides you with a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after the updated effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes that affect paid subscriptions, Apple will, where required, request your renewed consent before the next billing cycle.
